Chad stability is in Nigeria’s best interest – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the stability of Chad and other neighboring
countries are in the best interest of Nigeria. The President made this known while receiving the special envoy from the Transitional President of Chad, Mahamat Idris Derby

The President said relations between Nigeria and Chad transcend that of neighbors, as
the late President, Idris Derby constantly kept him abreast of developments in the
country, adding that he is genuinely concerned, and sincerely impressed with the
the leadership of the country in stabilizing the polity.

Buhari said he would “keep his ear to the ground and monitor the developments closely”,
and offered Nigeria’s support in any form required as Chadians hold a National Dialogue.
