Gunmen on rampage in Ilorin

Some yet-to-be-identified gunmen have reportedly invaded the home of a popular businesswoman in the Ilorin metropolis of Kwara state, killing her son and abducting her daughter.

How did it happen?

According to reports by Tribune online, the unidentified gunmen invaded the family residence of the businesswoman in Alagbado area of Ilorin, in the wee hours of yesterday, but could not gain access to the house after some of the family members refused to open the door for them.

Out of anger, the gunmen forcefully broke into the house, gunning them for the women’s son; Abdulganiy Musa, and abducting her daughter simply identified as Mistura.

Speaking at the interment of the late son, according to Islamic rites, a relative of the family disclosed that the abductors had called to demand ten million naira as a ransom for the kidnapped daughter, threatening that failure to do so promptly could result in their daughter suffering a similar fate as their son.

What’s the response of the police about the issue?

Police Public Relations Officer in the state: Okansnmi Ajayi while confirming the unfortunate event revealed that the command has begun an investigation into the case.

A similar incident was reported just about a week ago in that same neighborhood when a trader identified as Alfa Tunde Aribidesi was macheted to death and her two children abducted before they luckily escaped.
