INEC begins recruitment of Ad-hoc Staff for 2023 general elections

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has unveiled a portal for the recruitment of ad-hoc staff for the 2023 general elections.

The commission in a letter signed by its Acting Secretary and addressed to all Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs, said the online portal for the application will open on September 14 at 8 am and close on December 14 at 8 pm.

What role is INEC recruiting for?

According to the letter, the ad-hoc staff to be recruited include supervisory presiding officers, presiding officers, assistant presiding officers, registration area technicians, and registration area center managers.

How do I apply? 

Interested applicants with the exception of collation/returning officers are to register on the INECPRES to be eligible for selection as ad-hoc staff in the 2023 general elections.

The INECPRES is available via 2 links located on the INEC website: www.inecnigeria.org. The commission also directed its Resident Electoral Commissioners to commence engagements and sensitization exercises for members of the public. “To achieve the required number of ad-hoc staff per state, it is important that robust engagements/sensitization by the admin. Sec/HOD EOPs/Eos & AEOs under the leadership  of RECs is commenced with authorities  of federal, states tertiary institutions and NYSC offices (state/government levels).” The letter reads in part.
