South-South APC Stakeholders fume over Party’s bromance with Wike
Disquiet looms in the South-South zone of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC as stakeholders in the Rivers State chapter, including candidates for the 2023 elections express their displeasure over the party’s recent hobnobbing with Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike.
The stakeholders comprising National Assembly and State House of Assembly candidates and other party stalwarts disclosed that the party’s bromance with Governor Wike, at the national level, is discouraging for members at the state level, to see the leaders they look up to romancing with a known political opponent of the APC.

The stakeholders who made this known at a one-day consultative meeting of the south-south executive committee presided over by National Vice-chairman of the zone, Chief Victor Giadom, called on the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu, and governors of south-west APC, to stop hobnobbing with Wike, adding that they frown at the fact that these same leaders go as far as honouring Wike’s invitation to inaugurate projects, where they shower praises on him and help campaign for the PDP.
The stakeholders also accused President Buhari and the APC’s National Executive Council of neglecting Rivers APC.
Legal adviser of the party in the State, Dike Iheanyi Zubi, while speaking during the meeting said it was unfair for South-West governors to be holding nocturnal meetings with Wike and not bother to interact with party members in the state, describing their actions as anti-party activities and urging President Buhari to call them to order.
